Injection-molded magnesium is what makes it work. One piece. Zero welds. Geometry this precise isn't possible with steel, aluminum, or titanium frames. When contact comes, magnesium absorbs force transmission better than rigid metals. And where steel bends and aluminum fails under stress, magnesium maintains its shape. The XCG chin guard is integrated directly into the frame. Extended beyond competing designs. No loose throat guard hanging in your way.

The Tango2 pad cores in the modular pad system complete the package. Pad socks form the structural interface. On impact, molded EVA inside the sock spreads the contact area across a wider surface. Deeper in the core, an HDPE load distribution plate disperses it even further. From there, two impedance-matched layers manage deceleration: medium-firm EVA delivers structural stability and initial force distribution, while medium-density VPU extends the timeline through controlled compression. The transition between matched densities creates smooth force transmission eliminating the spike that mismatched materials produce.

When fabric breaks down after seasons of use, swap the socks. Keep the cores.

Installation:

1. Insert Tango2 pad cores into pad socks. Ensure core orientation matches markings.
2. Close zippers completely and secure zipper handles.
3. Attach to Mirage 12 frame using hook-and-loop straps. Fasten tightly.

This product includes Tango2 pads which use viscoelastic foam technologies that are temperature sensitive. Below 60°F, these materials become increasingly rigid and lose their impact-absorbing properties. In this state, the progressive compression system cannot function as designed, potentially resulting in higher impact forces being transmitted through the padding. For your safety and optimal protection performance, do not uses the Tango2 pad cores when air tempatures drops below 60°F.
